Die Lange Nacht der Illustration

Am Freitag dem 31. August 2012 ab 17:00 Uhr findet die Lange Nacht der Illustration in Berlin statt.

Die Illustratoren Organisation feiert ihr 10-jähriges Bestehen mit einer fulminanten Werkschau: Über 100 Illustratoren präsentieren am Abend des 31. August 2012 in 45 Orten in Berlin ihre aktuellen Arbeiten. Am Samstag, den 1. September lädt die Organisation dann erneut ein zu einer großen Ausstellung in der neu gegründeten Akademie für Illustration und Design. So vielfältig das Berufsfeld, so divers sind auch die Ausstellenden: Mit dabei sind unter anderem Comiczeichner, Kinderbuchillustratoren, Tätowierer, Siebdruckartisten, Magazinillustratoren, Kartenspielgestalter und zahlreiche prominente Vertreter zeitgenössischer Illustration wie Aljoscha Blau oder Tim Dinter.

Ein Bild sagt mehr als tausend Worte und eine Illustration ist Bildsprache par excellence.
Seit nunmehr 10 Jahren ist die Illustratoren Organisation e.V. das bedeutendste Forum der Illustratoren in Deutschland. Dieses besondere Jubiläum feiert der Verband mit zahlreichen wie vielfältigen Aktionen in ganz Deutschland. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die „Lange Nacht der Illustration“ in Berlin, eine Werkschau mit über 100 Illustratoren in mehr als 45 Ateliers, Galerien & Buchläden. Die Besucher erwartet ein exklusiver Einblick in die Arbeiten der Berliner Bildsprachler, die so vielfältig sind wie das Berufsfeld: Ob in der Werbung, auf Verpackungen oder in Kinderbüchern, Illustrationen sind aus dem Alltag nicht mehr wegzudenken. Inmitten medialer Informations- und Bilderfluten bieten Sie einzigartige Ankerpunkte, reduzieren komplexe Inhalte, heben einzelne Aspekte hervor wie ein Scheinwerfer, spitzen zu oder führen tiefer in eine Thematik ein. Ausstellungen, Lesungen, Präsentationen wie zahlreiche Workshops stehen auf dem Programm der langen Nacht. Die Pforten öffnen um 17 Uhr und schließen gegen 24.00 Uhr.

 

 

Long Night of Illustration
Friday, 31^st of August 2012 from 5PM onwards and happening all over Berlin:

The German Illustrators Organization IO celebrates its 10-years anniversary with over 100 illustrators presenting their art works at 45 different locations all over Berlin. Enjoy this unique opportunity to experience a great variety of illustration at selected artist studios, galleries and bookstores.
Exhibitions, lectures and presentations along with countless workshops and other artistic surprises will take place at venues in Prenzlauer Berg, Pankow, Mitte, Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Schöneberg.
Participating at the events are both established artists such as ATAK, Tanja Székessy, Aljoscha Blau and Tim Dinter, as well as upcoing illustrators representing the younger generation.
The doors will open at 17 hours, and will close around midnight.

Exebition opening Saturday, 01^st of September 2012

The IO´s 10-years anniversary celebration continues on the next day: on Saturday September 1st from 7PM, the Illustrators Organization IO invites you to join the opening of the Berlin Illustration Exhibition at the newly founded Academy for Illustration and Design Berlin (AID Berlin). The works on display represent a wide variety of art from comic designers to children book illustrators, sketchbook artists to silk printers, tattoo-artists and game designers. The exhibition continues until 21st of September 2012 and opens monday to friday from 10:00 am to 16:00 pm.
